Abderrazzaq ibn Abdelmouhsin al-Abbad al-Badr is a contemporary Saudi scholar, born in 1382 AH (1963 CE) in az-Zulfi, and based in Medina. He holds a doctorate in Aqidah and is a member of the faculty at the Islamic University of Medina, where he teaches graduate-level courses and leads study circles at the Prophet’s Mosque ﷺ. He is the son of Sheikh Abdelmouhsin al-Abbad al-Badr, known as the muhaddith of Medina.
What is Sheikh Abderrazzaq al-Badr's best-known book?
*Fiqh al-Ad'iya wa al-Adhkar* (The Jurisprudence of Supplications and Remembrances), published in four volumes. Yes. His father, Sheikh Abdelmouhsin ibn Hamad al-Abbad al-Badr, is a prominent figure in the teaching of hadith in Medina, where his study circles at the Prophet’s Mosque ﷺ have been attended for decades. Both men teach in the same city, which explains the frequent confusion between their names in catalogs: always check the first name on the cover—Abderrazzaq for the son, Abdelmouhsin for the father.
Are all the books attributed to the sheikh actually written by him?
No, and this is an important point. Some publications are transcriptions of his audio lectures produced by third parties. The administrators of his official website have issued a clarification stating that he does not authorize the conversion of his recorded lessons into printed books.
