Which matn should I start with?

With Al-Usul al-thalatha, a few pages, then Lum'at al-i'tiqad or Al-Aqida al-wasitiyya depending on the curriculum you follow. The Tahawiyya and Kitab al-tawhid come next. The order matters as much as the content.

Should I buy the bare matn or the commented edition?

Both, and they are not the same book. The bare matn, vowelled and pocket sized, serves memorisation; the commented edition sits on the desk and serves study. Every listing states which it is.

Are your matns vowelled?

Yes, and it is a criterion we check systematically in this section. A matn is recited aloud, and a vowel error in aqida is not trivial. If a copy is not fully vowelled, we say so on the listing.

What does a matn collection contain?

That depends entirely on the publisher, and two collections under the same title do not always hold the same list. That is the thing to check before buying, and we set out the matns actually included on every listing.

Should I change edition mid-memorisation?

No, avoid it. Memory leans on where the text sits on the page, exactly as with the mushaf. If you buy a replacement, take the same model rather than a nicer one.
