Why a dedicated book rather than a manual chapter?

Because zakat is the only chapter of worship that requires a calculation. A manual gives the rule; a dedicated work gives the cases and the worked examples, which are what you need at the moment of paying. We flag the presence of worked examples on the product page.

Is zakat on a salary covered?

Not in the older treatises, which do not envisage that situation. You need a recent work of fiqh az-zakat or a fatwa collection, reasoning by analogy with the classical categories. That is why we state the year of publication on this shelf.

Which wealth is liable?

Gold and silver, currency and accounts, trade goods, crops and livestock. Excluded, on the majority view, are the home you live in, goods of personal use and the tools of your trade. The works here detail each category with its nisab.

Are the eight categories of recipients explained?

Yes, it is a separate chapter in these works, with the practical questions attached to it: giving to a relative, giving abroad, going through a charity, and what does not count as zakat. These questions come up every Ramadan.

Does the school change the calculation?

On several points, yes: the nisab of crops, the treatment of goods, and zakat on debts. The gap is not theoretical, it changes the amount. The school is stated on each product page, and the comparative works give the positions side by side.

Is zakat al-fitr included?

Yes, it has its own chapter: measure, the kind of what is given, the timing, the recipients. Recent works also treat the question of giving its value in money, which is the subject of a known disagreement between the schools.
