Which book should I start with on marriage?

Adab az-zifaf by Al-Albani: a single volume on the texts of the early days of marriage, with the author's work on their authenticity. To compare the positions of the four schools question by question you want Al-Mufassal by Abdelkarim Zaydan, but that is eleven volumes.

Does Al-Mufassal exist in fewer than eleven volumes?

Partial reprints and abridgements circulate under the same title, which is where the price gaps come from. The number of volumes actually shipped is stated on the product page. If in doubt, write to us before ordering: we check the copy in stock.

Does this shelf also cover divorce?

Yes. Talaq, khul', the waiting period, nafaqa and custody of children belong to the chapter on nikah in the fiqh manuals, and Al-Mufassal devotes separate sections to them. The fatwa collections here also address recent cases.

Are all the books in Arabic?

Yes, this shelf gathers Arabic-language editions, without translation. The language level varies a great deal from title to title: Adab az-zifaf stays accessible, Al-Mufassal requires familiarity with legal vocabulary. The level is stated on each product page.

Why do two editions of the same title cost different amounts?

Four things make the difference: the editor, the takhrij of the hadiths cited, the real page count, and the quality of paper and binding. A compressed reprint and a verified edition carry the same title without being the same book. All four are stated on the product page.
